- Foreign investors can apply for a residence permit in Monaco on the following conditions:
- they are prohibited from doing business
- or have sources of income other than bank accounts.
- A financially wealthy person can obtain a residence permit in the following ways:
- through the lease or purchase of residential real estate;
- by opening an account with one of the local banks. The account must have at least EUR 500,000;
- income is confirmed by a bank statement. Each adult family member must receive a minimum of € 3,000 per month, and € 1,500 for each minor child, only from sources outside the principality.
In this case, the basis for issuing a residence permit will be the opening of a business in Monaco. To do this, you need to get the approval of the local authorities. Actually, this is the most difficult task, since the economy of the principality practically does not need to open new companies. It is necessary to present a unique project that can interest the local authorities.
Among the conditions:
- authorized capital of at least 150 thousand euros
- obligatory office in Monaco
- upon registration, tax is 1% of the authorized capital
- the company must have at least 4 people
- The most popular forms of companies are joint stock companies (S.A.M.) and partnerships. The so-called branches of a foreign company (BFC) are also common, but you need to take into account that you will pay 33% income tax if more than 25% of the company’s income comes from outside Monaco.
