Why need residence permit in San Marino

San Marino is a sea of sun, healing mountain air, medieval fortresses and old cobbled streets. This is a little more than 30 thousand people living in 30 settlements. From all sides San Marino “hugs” Italy, so you can get there only through it. After visiting this small country, many tourists thought about obtaining a residence permit. After all, this is a real opportunity to enjoy the privileges of an EU resident: high-quality medicine and education, the ability to travel around Europe without visas.

Residence permit for economic reasons

The easiest and most reliable way to obtain a residence permit in this small country is to open a local company. The residence permit will be valid as long as your company is afloat. All necessary documents can be drawn up on the spot. The registration process takes 14 banking days.

To establish a company, you must:

  • local bank account,
  • authorized capital – 26,000 €,
  • security deposit – 150,000 €.

The security deposit is kept in a state bank and will be returned if the residence permit is canceled. Alternatively, it can be used to buy real estate (residential or commercial). Thus, you can save on rental housing, get a legal address for the company or make money on resale in the future (the value of real estate in San Marino is growing every year). Starting a company does not oblige you to hire staff, but it does have its advantages. Corporate income tax is 17%. Having two hired employees allows you to legally reduce the tax to 8.5%.
